- On November 29, 2016, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves large-scale, Phase 3 clinical trials of the "party drug" Ecstasy, or MDMA. If approved, the drug could become a prescription option for those struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Trials so far are promising and doctors believe the use of MDMA is necessary since current options only help 60-70% of people. There is concern about the connection between long-term use and brain damage.
