On Nov. 28, 2016, wildfires begin to move from the Great Smoky Mountains into the resort towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The fires kill at least four, injure 45, with more missing. Search and rescue teams are moving house by house to find the missing persons. The fires destroy over 15,000 acres of land, forcing many of the tourists and residents in the area to evacuate. Hundreds of buildings are consumed by the fast-moving fires.
