On Oct. 24, 2016, the India-based conglomerate Tata Group fires Chairman Cyrus Mistry. The group has only had six chairmen since its founding in 1868; Mistry was expected to lead the group for decades, but only lasted four years before the board unexpectedly ousted him. The company deals in cars, steel, hotels and much more and under Mistry's command, many reforms were initiated that brought profit to the Tata Group in a time when the company was struggling financially.
