Guatemala’s Fuego Volcano Erupts

Hawaiians Build Homes for Evacuees

On June 9, 20 temporary housing units were built to house families forced from their homes in Hawaii. An estimated 600 homes have been destroyed by the volcano eruption. (Reuters)

Fires in Colorado Grow

On June 13, it was announced that 1,400 homes have been evacuated in Colorado since the wildfire began. The fire is only 15% contained. (CNN)

Earthquake in Japan

On June 17, a magnitude 6.1 quake in Osaka killed four people and injured hundreds. Factory lines were also halted amidst the quake. (Reuters)

Floods in India and Bangladesh

India Flood

On June 19, flash floods were triggered by heavy rains in India and Bangladesh. The floods have killed dozen of people and displaced more than a million. Much of the flood was caused by the Brahmaputra river, which burst its banks. (Reuters)

Vietnam Landslides

On June 25, it was announced that 7 people have died and another 12 are missing as a result of torrential rain in Vietnam. The rain has caused floods and landslides, which have caused $3.32 million worth of damages thus far. (Reuters)

Flood Waters Trap Soccer Team

On June 26, Thai rescuers announced their plan to drill a hole in the cave that 12 soccer players and their coach are believed to be in. The team has been trapped for four days due to flood waters and heavy rain. (Reuters)
