LYNCH, Thomas, Congress, WI (1844-1898)

LYNCH Thomas , a Representative from Wisconsin; born in Granville, Milwaukee County, Wis., November 21, 1844; attended the common schools; moved to Chilton, Calumet County, in 1864; engaged in agricultural pursuits; taught school; held various local offices; member of the State assembly in 1873 and 1883; was graduated from the law department of the Wisconsin University at Madison in 1875; was admitted to the bar in the same year and commenced practice in Chilton, Wis.; district attorney 1878-1882; moved to Antigo, Langlade County, Wis., in 1883; mayor of Antigo in 1885 and 1888; elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-second and Fifty-third Congresses (March 4, 1891-March 3, 1895); chairman, Committee on Mileage (Fifty-third Congress); died in Antigo, Wis., May 4, 1898; interment in St. John's Cemetery.
