Elva Roscoe KENDALL, Congress, KY (1893-1968)

KENDALL Elva Roscoe , a Representative from Kentucky; born near Carlisle, Nicholas County, Ky., February 14, 1893; attended the public schools, the Young Men's Christian Association School of Accountancy at New York City, and National University at Washington, D.C.; engaged as a public accountant and tax consultant; also interested in agricultural pursuits; during the First World War served in the personnel office of the Sixty-first Division; employed as a field auditor for the United States Treasury Department 1922-1927; elected as a Republican to the Seventy-first Congress (March 4, 1929-March 3, 1931); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1930 to the Seventy-second Congress; resumed agricultural pursuits and his profession as a public accountant; also engaged in the real estate business; was a resident of Carlisle, Ky., until his death January 29, 1968.
