Extreme Weather Events Unravels The Gulf Coast Of The United States

Thursday, April 11, 2024 – The National Weather Service (NWS) reported that large regions in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama had been damaged. Storm and flash flood warnings have been issued for sections of Florida and Georgia as the system moves east.
One fatality was previously recorded in Scott County, Mississippi, about 200 miles (320 km) north of New Orleans. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency did not provide any information regarding the event or the cause of death.
Flash flooding was reported in the New Orleans area, with more than a month's worth of rain falling in only a few hours, while numerous suspected tornadoes inflicted damage throughout the Gulf Coast.
According to police in Slidell, Louisiana, at least ten individuals were wounded and sent to the hospital for treatment after a potential tornado struck. Officers reportedly reported that they had rescued around 50 individuals in the city, while another local official described "catastrophic" devastation.
