Narges Mohammadi,
1972– , b. Zanjan, Iran, Iranian human rights activist and author,
studied at Imam Khomeini International University, also known as Qazvin
International University (B.A.) She is vice president of the Defenders of
Human Rights Center. Her outspoken criticism of the Iranian government led
to frequent arrests and imprisonment. Mohammadi was awarded the 2023 Nobel
Peace Prize for "her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her
fight to promote human rights and freedom for all” while she was in
Iranian prison.
