William Joseph GREEN, Jr., Congress, PA (1910-1963)
GREEN William Joseph, Jr. , a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Philadelphia, Pa., March 5, 1910; attended the parochial schools and was graduated from St. Joseph's Preparatory School; attended St. Joseph's College, Philadelphia, Pa.; engaged in business as an insurance broker in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1937; served in the United States Army as a private in the Quartermaster Corps from March 22, 1944, to December 4, 1944; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-ninth Congress (January 3, 1945-January 3, 1947); unsuccessful for reelection in 1946 to the Eightieth Congress; elected to the Eighty-first and to the seven succeeding Congresses, and served from January 3, 1949, until his death in Philadelphia, Pa., December 21, 1963; interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
