Lawrence Strother TRIMBLE, Congress, KY (1825-1904)
TRIMBLE Lawrence Strother , a Representative from Kentucky; born near Flemingsburg, Fleming County, Ky., August 26, 1825; completed preparatory studies; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1847 and commenced practice in Paducah, Ky.; member of the State house of representatives in 1851 and 1852; judge of the equity and criminal court of the first judicial circuit of Kentucky 1856-1860; president of the New Orleans & Ohio Railroad Co. 1860-1865; unsuccessful candidate for election in 1868 to the Thirty-eighth Congress; elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-ninth, Fortieth, and Forty-first Congresses (March 4, 1865-March 3, 1871); unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1870; resumed the practice of law; moved to Albuquerque, N.Mex., in 1879 and continued the practice of law until 1889, when he retired; died in Albuquerque, N.Mex., August 9, 1904; interment in Fairview Cemetery.
