LATHAM Henry Jepson , a Representative from New York; born in Brooklyn, Kings County, N.Y., December 10, 1908; graduated from Richmond Hill High School, Richmond Hill, N.Y.; St. John's College, Brooklyn, N.Y.; LL.B., Brooklyn Law School, Brooklyn, N.Y.; L.M., Brooklyn Law School, Brooklyn, N.Y., 1931; lawyer, private practice; unsuccessful Republican candidate for the New York state senate in 1938; member of the New York state assembly, 1941-1942; United States Navy, 1942-1945; United States Navy Reserve; elected while in the Navy as a Republican to the Seventy-ninth Congress and reelected to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1945-December 31, 1958); justice, New York state supreme court, 1958-1972; judge, appellate division, New York state supreme court, 1970-1979; died on June 26, 2002, in Southold, N.Y; interment in Saint Patricks Cemetery, Southold, N.Y.
