Age: 77free-spirited outfielder in the women's professional baseball league of the 1940s, and the inspiration for "All the Way Mae" Mordabito, the character played by Madonna in the 1992 film "A League of Their Own"; her all-out hustle and rebelliousness earned her the nickname All the Way Faye; first woman in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League to hit two home runs in a game; stole 108 bases in 1948; her spikes and gloves are on display at the National Baseball Hall of Fame. She died after cancer surgery.
