(Aug. 2-7 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, CAN)
Since bowling has yet to achieve full-medal Olympic status, every four years since 1983 the Pan-American Games has served as the largest international multi-event competition for bowlers. Twelve nations competed in this year's team competition which was based on total pins. Two players from each nation entered the Masters competition, where total pinfalls plus bonus pins decided the medalists.
