Japan Hit by Typhoon Jebi and Earthquakes
On September 3, at least 6 people died as Typhoon Jebi washed over Japan. The typhoon also flooded an airport and caused a tanker to hit a bridge. Typhoon Jebi is the worst to hit Japan in 25 years. On September 5, seven more people died after a magnitude 6.7 quake hit Japan. (CNN/Reuters)

Flooding in North Korea
On September 6, North Korea experienced severe flooding that left 76 people dead and another 100 missing. The Red Cross also claimed that the floods had left thousands homeless.

Hurricane Florence Gains Strength
On September 11, more than 1 million people were told to evacuate the East Coast after it was announced that Hurricane Florence was gaining speed. By September 13, professionals predicted that 10 trillion gallons of rain may fall on North Carolina. On September 14, the hurricane hit the Carolinas, killing at least 20 people. Flooding is expected to get even worse as the storm continues into the next week. (CNN)

Typhoon Mangkhut Hits China and the Philippines
On September 17, more than 3 million people were forced to evacuate southern China after Typhoon Mangkhut hit. The typhoon has caused mudslides, which have killed dozens and injured hundreds more. Before the typhoon hit China, it flooded the Philippines, killing over 50 people. (CNN)

Floods in Nigeria
On September 17, more than 100 people died after rivers flooded in NIgeria. The government is urging people to relocate as the rivers continue to overflow. (BBC)

Landslides Kill 12 in the Philippines
On September 20, after the typhoon hit the Philippines last week, landslides occurred, killing at least 12 people. Rescue workers have been working on pulling people from the rubble. (Reuters)

Earthquake and Tsunami in Indonesia
On September 28, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia led to a tsunami which is believed to have killed at least 400 people. At least 350,000 people have lost their homes after water flooded the city of Palu. On September 30, the death toll jumped to 832. (CNN/Reuters)
