William Robinson SAPP, Congress, OH (1804-1875)
SAPP William Robinson , a Representative from Ohio; born at Cadiz, Ohio, March 4, 1804; moved to Knox County, where he attended the public schools; engaged in the mercantile business in Danville; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1833 and commenced practice at Millersburg, Holmes County, Ohio; prosecuting attorney of Holmes County; moved to Mount Vernon, Knox County, in 1846; elected as a Whig to the Thirty-third Congress and reelected as an Opposition Party candidate to the Thirty-fourth Congress (March 4, 1853-March 3, 1857); unsuccessful candidate for reelection; assessor of internal revenue for the thirteenth district 1869-1872; collector of internal revenue from 1872 until his death in Mount Vernon, Knox County, Ohio, January 3, 1875; interment in Mound View Cemetery.
