HALLOWAY Ransom , a Representative from New York; born in Beekman, Dutchess County, N.Y., about 1793; engaged in agricultural pursuits; brigade paymaster of the New York Militia in 1818; elected as a Whig to the Thirty-first Congress (March 4, 1849-March 3, 1851); died in Upper Marlboro, Prince George's County, Md., April 6, 1851.
