Charles Forrest CURRY, Jr., Congress, CA (1893-1972)

CURRY Charles Forrest, Jr. , a Representative from California; born in San Francisco, Calif., August 13, 1893; attended the public schools, Howe's Academy, Sacramento, Calif., and George Washington University and Georgetown University School of Law, Washington, D.C.; secretary to his father, Congressman Charles F. Curry, 1913-1917; during the First World War enlisted in the Aviation Section, Signal Enlisted Reserve Corps, on August 15, 1917; commissioned a second lieutenant and served until May 22, 1919, with overseas service; clerk to the Committee on the Territories, House of Representatives, 1919-1930; was admitted to the bar in 1921; elected as a Republican as a write-in candidate to the Seventy-second Congress (March 4, 1931-March 3, 1933); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1932 to the Seventy-third Congress; engaged in the practice of law, and in mining and other business enterprises; resided in Long Beach, Calif., where he died October 7, 1972; interment in Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, Calif.
