rugged actor who epitomized the Western cowboy in scores of films, including The Cisco Kid and the Lady (1940) and Dakota Lil (1950). He was married to singer Dinah Shore from 1943 to 1963. Later in life, Montgomery became a respected sculptor and furniture builder.
