  • New Sanctions Package For Russia: On Monday, April 11, members of the EU discussed further economic and resource sanctions against Putin as Russia continues its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, particularly after the catastrophic events revealed in the suburb of Bucha.[1]
  • Macron Continues To Fight For Presidency: On Monday, April 11, current President Emmanuel Macron continues his campaign in the 2022 French elections against Marine Le Pen, but the initial poll numbers reveal a much tighter match than the candidates' previous experience in 2017.[2]
  • Biden Plans New Gun Regulations And ATF Nominee: On Monday, April 11, US President Joe Biden cracks down on unregulated guns, including 3D printed and DIY weapons, in an effort to cut excessive gun violence instances drastically, and is set to appoint a new leader of the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives).[3]

  • Amazon Rainforest Continues To Be Stripped: On Monday, April 11, the Amazon rainforest reached peak deforestation levels recorded in the past 6 years as a man-made disaster, with 363 square miles of vegetation stripped from the area since the beginning of this year, as economic advances continue to take precedence over environmental ones under Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.[1]
  • Off-Season Tropical Storm Megi Continues To Hit Philippines: On Tuesday, April 12, the Philippines continued to be battered by tropical Storm Megi, which has brought devastation in the form of landslides, floods, and destructive winds, and has claimed at least 25 lives. This storm has occurred in the hemisphere's dry season, making it a weather anomaly for this time.[2]
  • Texan Tornadoes Rip Through Rural Counties: On Wednesday, April 13, counties outside of Austin, Texas, were all but destroyed by a series of twisters that followed severe storm systems moving across the southern US, with property, nature, and utilities completely ransacked, and leaving 23 injured.[3]
