Kragujevac

Kragujevac kräˈgo͞oyĕvätsˌ [key], city (1991 pop. 147,305), S central Serbia. The economic and cultural center of the Sumadija region, Kragujevac's industries include the manufacture of motor vehicles and munitions, vegetable canning, and flour milling. First mentioned in 17th cent., the city was the cultural and political center of Serbia when it served (1818–39) as Miloš Obrenović's capital.
