Cetinje

Cetinje tsĕˈtĭnyĕ [key], town, S Montenegro. It grew around a monastery founded in 1485 and became the residence of Montenegro's ruling prince-bishops; it remained the capital of Montenegro until 1945. The monastery, the burial place of the Montenegrin princes, and the former royal palace (now a museum) remain.
