Teaneck

Teaneck tēˈnĕk [key], residential township (1990 pop. 37,825), Bergen co., NE N.J., near the Hackensack River; settled in the early 1600s, inc. 1895. Jewelry, electrical equipment, and food seasonings are among its manufactures. A suburb in the New York City metropolitan region, Teaneck developed rapidly after the construction of the George Washington Bridge (1931). The Metropolitan Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson Univ. is there. The city has several 18th-century homes.
