Unemployment Hits Eight-Year Low (Feb. 5): According to the Labor Department, the U.S. economy adds 151,000 jobs in January. The unemployment rate falls from 5% in December to 4.9%. This marks the first time that it has fallen below 5% since Feb. 2008, just before the recession.
