• Job Numbers Bounce Back in April (May 8): According to the Labor Department, the U.S. economy adds 223,000 jobs in April, a huge increase over the revised, disappointing total of 85,000 new jobs in March. Adding to the good news, the unemployment rate decreased from 5.5% in March to 5.4% in April.
