The third installment in Dick Wolf's Law & Order franchise maintains the fully developed script and character development that make the shows among prime time's most compelling dramas. He puts a slightly different spin on the formula, examining crimes, usually homicides, from the perspectives of the perpetrators. D'Onofrio's polymath detective uses his imposing physical presence as much as his mind to psychologically intimidate suspects.
