Summer Music Festivals, 2001

With the school year drawing to a close, it's time to start penciling in the dates for this year's summer music festivals. After a few slow summers, which saw the demise of Lollapalooza, H.O.R.D.E., Smokin' Grooves, the Glastonbury Festival, and Lilith Fair, touring fests are cool again and on the rise. Indeed, Mekka Tour, Area: One, MTV's TRL Tour, and Wotapalava are all new entries this summer. In addition to hours of music and sun, the shows offer everything from arts and crafts to software to tattoos. Here's a look at the hottest tickets of the summer.
