Mifune is a Danish film produced under the Dogma auspices—a set of rules calling for naturalism in moviemaking (no props, no false light, etc.). It follows Kresten (Anders Bethelsen), a man whose father dies, leaving his mentally retarded brother alone on the failing family farm. Kresten gets pulled into caretaking, and in response to a call for housekeepers, a prostitute with a past Liva (Iben Hjejle) arrives.

Demanding Dogma principles lead to a beautifully filmed movie with a plain lyricism that impresses more than its script.
