After six years of imprisonment for the murder of her husband, Nick (Greenwood), Libby Parsons (Ashley Judd) is out. And angry. Nick framed his wife and ran off with her son and her sister. Given the double jeopardy law stating that a person can't be tried for the same crime twice, Libby sets out to locate her husband and do to him what she was unjustly jailed for.

Tommy Lee Jones brings scabrous wisecracks to the movie as her parole officer. The real hero, however, is Judd, who demonstrates great ability in her role, overturning stereotypes as the action lead. Spotty plotlines send Libby on her lethal manhunt from Puget Sound to New Orleans, flirting with lots of Internet-based intrigue along the way.
