A surf-and-turf romance that serves up all the components of family fare: cute kids, cuter animals, single parents destined for each other and a villain. It's love at first sight when canine Zeus meets cetacean Roxanne. He barks, she nods. He jumps, she spins in the air. What a perfect research opportunity for marine biologist Mary Beth Dunhill (Quinlan), who is studying “communication between the species.” There's even more communication between the species when Dunhill falls in love with Zeus's owner, Terry Barnett (Guttenberg), a widowed father. Dunhill's rival, mean scientist Dr. Carter (Vosloo), is out to steal her research. Too much of the movie focuses on the human relationship, which will likely bore the little ones.
