Saturday Night Live graduate Adam Sandler plays Robbie, a suburban wedding singer who gets jilted by his fiancé in this comedic ode to the '80s, complete with new-wave, bad fashion, and big hair. Robbie's ensuing romance with a waitress (Barrymore) makes for a pleasant love story, if you can stomach the predictability. Sandler is appealing, but can't quite spin two hours of comedy from '80s nostalgia.
