Rule number one when making a kids' movie: Use a short, catchy title that's easy to remember. What 6 year old is going to remember this mouthful? The Second Jungle Book, an embarrassing prequel to the 1995 film, has 10-year-old Mowgli (Williams), with the help of his four-legged friends, evading a group of evil monkeys called the Bandars, a recruiter for P. T. Barnum (Campbell) and his rapacious uncle (Grover), who wants to kill Mowgli for his substantial inheritance. Only rarely do humans and animals appear in the same frame together, making for many dull action scenes.
