Branagh plays a Catholic priest who's hiding more than a few secrets under his robes. Set in 1930s Boston, sex scandals and murder unfold with about as much grace and depth as a daytime TV drama. Hurt plays a lawyer who goes to desperate measures to impregnate his beloved wife (Stowe) when he finds out he's infertile. But the stellar cast can't turn Ramage's watery screenplay into wine.
