Based on the book by Claude Stanush |
McConaughey, Hawke, Ulrich and D'Onofrio make a handsome lineup in this cops-and-robbers flick, based on the real-life story of four brothers who made a successful living robbing banks and trains in the 1920s. The Newton Boys is old-fashioned renegade fun that has you rootin' for the shootin' guys in the black hats. Writer/Director Linklater, who's known for contemporary buddy movies about slackers (Dazed and Confused, Slackers), has pulled off the Western period piece with charming style.
