Billionaires, babes and bears, oh my! Mamet takes to the great outdoors with unintentionally hilarious results. The playwright, usually known for his clipped, mile-a-minute dialogue and his penchant for urban settings is clearly out of his element in this rugged adventure film about a MacGyver-esque billionaire (Hopkins) who ends up stranded in the Alaskan wilderness with his wife's lover, a smarmy fashion photographer (Baldwin). Throw in a massive man-eating grizzly bear, and you've got the makings of some wonderful (and embarrassingly unintended) slapstick. The story is very predictable, the score is bombastic and the dialogue is abysmal, but the sheer humor of it all makes for some good laughs.
