Movies and Film: Film Editing
Film Editing
For many filmmakers the real art of making films is not in the photography but in the splicing together of film clips, in the editing. You can almost chart the progression of film from an early invention to its primitive stage to its "golden era" to the present moment by changes and advances in editing.
In this section, you will be exposed to the history of film editing, the major players, some of the most important editing techniques, and different ways of gauging the significance of editing in a film. We will also suggest a few films whose editing makes our final cut.
