Arthur Galston was a plant biologist at Yale who helped create the herbicide Agent Orange, which was used extensively by U.S. forces during the Vietnam War to expose enemy guerrilla forces in forested areas. When Dr. Galston realized the devastating environmental effects of Agent Orange, he spent many years trying to raise awareness and put a stop to its use.
