Russian computer programmer, was arrested in July in Las Vegas on charges of violating 1998's Digital Millennium Copyright Act. As an employee of Russia's ElcomSoft, he wrote software that allows users of Adobe eBook to download and distribute copies of electronic books. Programmers and copyright lawyers criticized his arrest and questioned the enforceability of the law.
