24, sprinter, won three gold and two bronze medals at the Sydney Olympics in Sept., somewhat of a disappointment since many expected her to become the first U.S. track and field athlete to win five golds at one Olympics. She competed in the 100- and 200-meter sprints, as well as the long jump and the 400- and 1,600-meter relays. Her victories were somewhat tarnished when it was revealed that her husband, shotputter C. J. Hunter, tested positive for steroid use in July. He was slated to participate in the games but was sidelined because of a knee injury.
