Perkins KING, Congress, NY (1784-1857)

KING Perkins , a Representative from New York; born in New Marlboro, Mass., January 12, 1784; pursued an academic course; studied law; was admitted to the bar; moved to Greenville, N.Y., in 1802, where he commenced the practice of law; town clerk in 1815; member of the State assembly in 1827; elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress (March 4, 1829-March 3, 1831); county judge of Greene County 1838-1847; resumed the practice of law; died in Freehold, Greene County, N.Y., November 29, 1857; interment in Snyder Cemetery.
