Lucien ANDERSON, Congress, KY (1824-1898)
ANDERSON Lucien , a Representative from Kentucky; born near Mayfield, Graves County, Ky., June 23, 1824; attended the public schools; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1845 and commenced practice in Mayfield; presidential elector on the Whig ticket of Scott and Graham in 1852; member of the State house of representatives 1855-1857; elected as an Unconditional Unionist to the Thirty-eighth Congress (March 4, 1863-March 3, 1865); declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1864; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1864; resumed the practice of his profession; died in Mayfield, Ky., October 18, 1898; interment in the Anderson family cemetery
