Joseph HAWKINS, Congress, NY (1781-1832)

HAWKINS Joseph , a Representative from New York; born in that State on November 14, 1781; completed preparatory studies; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Henderson, N.Y., and also engaged in agricultural pursuits; elected as an Anti-Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress (March 4, 1829-March 3, 1831); died in Henderson, Jefferson County, N.Y., April 20, 1832; interment in Clark Cemetery.
