YOUNG John Andrew , a Representative from Texas; born in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Tex., November 10, 1916; attended the Incarnate Word Academy and Corpus Christi College-Academy; B.A., St. Edwards University, Austin, Tex., 1937; L.L.B., University of Texas School of Law, 1940; lawyer, private practice; United States Navy, 1941-1945; assistant county attorney, Nueces County, Tex., 1946; assistant district attorney, Nueces County, Tex., 1947-1950; county attorney, Nueces County, Tex., 1951-1952; county judge, Nueces County, Tex., 1953-1956; elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-fifth and to the ten succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1957-January 3, 1979); unsuccessful candidate for renomination to the Ninety-sixth Congress in 1978; consultant; died on January 22, 2002, in Arlington, Va.; interment in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
