HECK Joe , a Representative from Nevada; born in Jamaica, Queens County, N.Y., October 30, 1961; graduated from Wallenpaupack Area High School, Hawley, Pa., 1979; B.S., Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pa., 1984; D.O., Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa., 1988; M.S.S., United States Army War College, Carlisle, Pa., 2006; United States Army Reserve, 1991-present; brigadier general; physician; business owner; faculty, Touro University, Henderson, Nevada; faculty, Community College of Southern Nevada; faculty, University of Nevada School of Medicine, Las Vegas, Nevada; faculty, Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, Md., 1998-2003; member of the Nevada state senate, 2004-2008; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Twelfth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2011-January 3, 2017); was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fifteenth Congress in 2016, but as an unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States Senate.
