Age: 94one of the most influential and talented theater and film directors, Kazan won Best Director Oscars for Gentleman's Agreement and On the Waterfront, and Tony Awards for directing All My Sons, Death of a Salesman, and J. B. He was ostracized by many of his colleagues after he testified as a cooperative witness before the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1952. He cofounded and codirected the Actors Studio.
