Ed Runge

American League umpire from 1954-70 and the father and grandfather of major league umpires; called three World Series (including Don Larsen's perfect game in 1956) and five All-Star Games; his son, Paul, was a National League umpire from 1974-97; when Paul's son, Brian, became an umpire in 1999, the Runges became the only three-generation family of major league umpires. The cause of his death was not given.
