Age: 64highly touted rookie pitcher in 1962, whose rapid decline will forever be associated with his rise to Hollywood playboy status; pitched a no-hitter as a rookie with the then L.A. Angels in 1962; posted a record of 28-51 and a 4.10 ERA over eight-year career with L.A., Philadelphia, Houston, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati; gained more notoriety in the 1960s for driving flashy cars and dating starlets like Ann-Margaret, Tina Louise and Mamie Van Doren, to whom he was engaged briefly. He died of a heart attack.
