Benjamin Davis, Jr.
Age: 89the first black U.S. Air Force general, who, during World War II, led the Tuskegee Airmen, the pioneering group of all-black fighter pilots. The success of the Airmen led to the integration of the military. Davis graduated from West Point in 1936, the first black cadet to do so in the 20th century. His father was the U.S. Army's first black general.
