Garnet (Ace) Bailey
Age: 53L.A. Kings director of pro scouting who was a passenger aboard hijacked United Airlines Flight 175 that crashed into the World Trade Center; in his eighth season as director of Kings' scouting department; scouted for the Edmonton Oilers for 13 seasons, winning five Stanley Cups with the team; played 11 seasons in the NHL with Boston, Detroit, St. Louis and Washington; jumped to the WHA in 1978 when he was a linemate of Wayne Gretzky in Edmonton; won two Stanley Cups as a player with Boston in 1970 and 1972. He died of injuries sustained in the crash.
