Age: 75Dallas Cowboys coach who led “America's Team” to five Super Bowl appearances and is best remembered for pacing the Texas Stadium sidelines in a suit and fedora hat; coached the Cowboys for their first 29 years beginning in 1960 when the team was 0-11-1; had streak of 20 consecutive winning seasons (1966-85); won 13 division titles and two Super Bowl titles (1972,78); at the time of his death Don Shula (347) and George Halas (324) were the only coaches with more than his 270 NFL victories; college star at the University of Texas and defensive back/defensive coach for the N.Y. Giants in the 1950s; his early coaching staffs included future NFL coaches Dan Reeves and Mike Ditka; inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Cowboys' Ring of Honor in 1993. He died of leukemia.
