Age: 76former Los Angeles Rams wideout (1948-56) whose precise button-hook routes made him one of pro football's best receivers; had 84 catches in 1950; caught three TDs in 1950 division title game; caught 73-yard pass to win 1951 title game; holds NFL record for catches in a game (18), set in 1950; career: 400 catches, 5,397 yards, 38 TDs; enshrined in Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1970. He died of complications from Alzheimer's disease.
